Moonliner
Disneyland, Anaheim, CA
The original Moonliner was posed for liftoff outside one of Disneyland's original 1955 attractions, Rocket to the Moon. It depicted a single stage to lunar orbit passenger vehicle from the year 1986. At 79 feet tall (one foot shorter than the minimum requireing an aircraft warning beacon), it was actually a 1/3 scale model of the craft you 'rode' in the attraction. It was removed in 1966 for the New Tomorrowland. The current Moonliner is 2/3 the size of the original and graces a Coca-Cola stand outside Rodd Rockets' Pizza Port.
