Mercury-Redstone

Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX

Loading Mercury-Redstone from Image File This Mercury-Redstone probably the best representation of the actual rocket.  Everything about seems authentic, from the roll patterns and MR-7 labels above each fins to the antennae at the bottom of the top roll pattern.  This is located at the JSC Rocket Park and can be seen by taking the tram tour from Space Center Houston. The building construction in the back is for the Saturn V.

Fin area of Redstone Booster. Notice the mildew and mold. Hopefully this will be cleaned and repaired when the Saturn V restoration is complete.
The two best looking examples of '60's rocket engineering.
