CM-111
Apollo/Soyuz Test Project
ASTP
California Science Center, Los Angeles, CA

This command module represents the last Apollo spacecraft launched into orbit. Onboard were astronauts Stafford, Brand and Slayton.  Originally slated for an Apollo 18 lunar mission, the spacecraft was never given that designation although it is sometimes erroneously referred to as such.

On July 20, 2005 this spacecraft was moved out of the Apollo/Saturn V Center at KSC and transferred to the California Science Center in Los Angeles, CA. The spacecraft rests beside the Gemini XI and Mercury MR-2 capsules.

This image was taken on the evening of the US premiere of the new Genesis album, "Calling  All Stations".  The band's interview and short acoustic concert  took place near the spacecraft end of the Saturn V at the Apollo/Saturn V Center at KSC.  About 200 employees were chosen by raffle to attend this event.  I was impressed by the way CM 111 looked bathed in the colored lights of the production.
